On a track in good condition compared to the wet track of FP1, the times dropped significantly during the second free practice session. Fabio di Giannantonio took the opportunity to set the best time with a very good time of 1'42.620 ahead of Jorge Martin, followed by Enea Bastianini, Gabriel Rodrigo, Romano Fenati, Aron Canet and Joan Mir.

The best time of the morning was to the credit of Aron Canet in 1'46.518, without this time having much significance in itself due to the track still being wet. In the afternoon the air temperature was 25° and that of the track 37°.

Fabio di Giannantonio took the lead in 1'43.819, ahead of Romano Fenati and Jorge Martin, who had not raced in the morning during the first free practice session to save himself physically following his injury. Then Aron Canet took first position in 1'43.711, while Joan Mir closed in third position.

Enea Bastianini took the best performance 30 minutes from the checkered flag in 1'43.556. Then Jorge Martin was ahead of him in 1'43.505. Fabio di Giannantonio progressed in 1'43.282, ahead of Martin, Bastianini, Loi, Canet, Migno and Mir. Jules Danilo was twenty-fifth.

Romano Fenati took the lead in 1'43.201 with 22 minutes remaining. Curiously, Fenati has never been on the podium in a Grand Prix at Misano. We learned that John McPhee was a little physically stiff, after a car caused him to fall while he was training on his bike, brushing him against a wall. Fortunately the Scotsman did not suffer any fractures.

Bo Bendsneyder fell without seriousness in turn 4. Romano Fenati took the lead in 1'43.096. Lorenzo Dalla Porta fell without gravity in turn 10. Fabio di Giannantonio was the first to go under 1'43, with a good time of 1'42.802, only two tenths of the lap record set last year by Andrea Locatelli .

Juanfran Guevara fell without seriousness in turn 10. Manuel Pagliani (CIP) did the same in the last corner. Three minutes from the end, Enea Bastianini moved from seventh place to first, in 1'42.789. Fabio di Giannantonio snatched first position under the checkered flag in 1'42.620, 0.07 ahead of Jorge Martin, followed by Enea Bastianini, Gabriel Rodrigo, Romano Fenati, Aron Canet and Joan Mir. Jules Danilo ranked twenty-fourth.
