By obtaining seventh place in Misano, the Briton equaled his best result of the year previously achieved in Qatar, and finished for the fourth time this season among the top ten. This therefore allows him to now occupy twelfth place in the provisional general classification, with only one small point ahead of Jack Miller.

The journey from Redding to Misano was far from easy, however, with a modest sixteenth place at the end of the first day of free practice. He completed these same free practices on Saturday morning in seventeenth position. He therefore had to go through Q1, but there too the result did not live up to his hopes and he had to resign himself to starting from nineteenth place on the grid, on the seventh row alongside the two Suzukialex rins and D'Andrea Iannone.

The warm up in the wet was much more positive for the Englishman's morale with the tenth performance. Redding got off to a fairly good start with seventeenth place at the end of the first lap, moving up to eleventh position by the seventh. Ninth at the end of the ninth loop, Redding took advantage of a few racing events, including the breakdown of Zarco's Yamaha, to finally cross the finish line in a good seventh place, just ahead of Alex Rins.

For Scott Redding, “ It was a difficult weekend. I never had a good feeling, neither during free practice nor during qualifying. Considering everything though, I'm very happy with this result.

“I managed to have a good race pace, without making a mistake. This very good result gives me confidence for Aragon. I have to thank the team for the work they did this weekend. »
