It must be recognized that since his departure from the Moto2 category after a Vice-championship title in 2013, Scott Redding is no longer really a regular in our columns.

The British rider indeed had a lot of difficulty getting used to the Honda MotoGP, whether Open or factory, and decided this year to accommodate his large frame (1,84 m) on a Ducati Pramac GP15 refused by Laurent Fellon, the “mentor” of Johann Zarco, in the name of a lack of competitiveness.

This is apparently a good decision by number #45, since by finishing 5th, 4th, then 2nd of these three days of testing at Losail, the native of Gloucester has every chance of offering himself a very good start of the year during the first Grand Prix, which will take place in two weeks in Qatar.

Scott Redding, 2nd, 1'55.326: “I’m really, really happy. I wanted to push hard to see my potential. At first we struggled a bit with the new tires, but things got better day by day. Today I was strong with the new tire but I set my best time on the tenth lap with a tire that was already 15 laps old. And the race isn't much longer. I am very happy, I feel that confidence is returning. During these days we also had two motorbikes and this gave me the opportunity to attack without worrying about anything. The Qatar GP? When I say that my goal is the Top 6, some people start to laugh. I just showed that I can stay at this level, and I will try to do even better. »

As a reminder, last year Scott Redding qualified 14th, in 1'55.428, with the Bridgestone and the factory specification Honda of the Marc VDS team.
