The Englishman from Team Pramac is currently part of a small group of three drivers ahead of Assen in the fight for eleventh position in the general classification. With 33 points, he occupies twelfth place, behind Alvaro Bautista who has 34, and ahead of Jack Miller who has 30.

The season started very well for Scott, however, with seventh place in Qatar, then eighth in Argentina. Unfortunately, no place in the top 10 followed during the following five Grands Prix. This complicates things even more for Redding as he does not have a contract for 2018, and his current modest performances do not put him in a strong position in terms of possible negotiations.

For the moment, discussions for a possible extension have not yet started with Pramac. Perhaps it would be advisable not to delay too much, because most of the drivers already have a contract for next year. As time goes by, the places that remain inevitably become less and less attractive.

According to Scott, “ It would be nice to stay here with this team, but if they don't want to keep me, I have to look for other options. It's up to these guys more than me to decide for myself. Obviously my priority would be to stay here because I think the Ducati suits me. It's a very competitive bike, but it depends if they want to keep me or not. That's pretty much the situation, and we have to see from there.

“I've been in this paddock for a few years now, I've been in MotoGP for two seasons, but nothing is really going in the right direction. Yes, I show up sometimes in testing, but when I have a good race, something happens with the bike.

“Perhaps it is good that there is time, because then I have more time to show myself. But it's kind of stupid to be in a position where you have to prove something. »
