Take three Binders and two Bagnaias on the longest circuit of the season, a track resurfaced but never really dry, weather that can become rainy in less than five minutes at any time, but an unconditional public, add a title already awarded but a pinch of Navarro, Pawi, Rodrigo, Suzuki and Quartararo to spice it all up, put it all in the Sepang cauldron but over a lower heat than usual, and you get this Malaysian Grand Prix with a strange (and bitter) taste came from elsewhere...
This morning, the sky is white/blue, the sun has disappeared, the air is already at 31°, and the track at 38° which is about to finish evaporating the last patches of humidity.

When the lights go out, it's Binder who starts best from a front line also including NAVARRO et bagnaia.
A series of falls, the first involving Migno et Guevara, the second Sasaki and the third Norrodin, Bulega, Martin, Canet et Oettl, decimates the competitors during this first round.
On your mind, Binder et bagnaia, two of the strongest brakemen on the field, compete for leadership accompanied by Mir et Dalla Porta.
Unfortunately, they will only do two laps before a new collective fall occurs at the location of the previous fall while the marshals are still working; Binder, Mir, Dalla Porta et Di Giannantonio are victims of it.
DRAMA for the lead group as Binder, Mir & Dalla Porta hit the deck!

bagnaia took the opportunity to escape, 3 seconds ahead of the peloton led by Kornfeil, Navarro et Quarterly.
NAVARRO fall on the next lap and, at this moment, only 16 drivers are still on the track out of the 32 starters with 13 laps remaining.
Before the halfway mark, Antonelli and Danilo fell at turn #9 while some drivers who had crashed started again, with no other hope than to finish the race.
At the halfway mark, bagnaia is 6 seconds ahead of a duo composed of Kornfeil and Bendsneyder, followed at one second by Rodrigo, then another second later by Quarterly three seconds ahead of Pawi.
The positions therefore seem stabilized but, little by little, fabio quartararo manages to reconnect with the Bendsneyder/Kornfeil duo.
4 laps before the end, Maria Herrera falls and brings a surprising red flag that we expected during collective falls...
To top it off, a few drops of rain start to fall in the pit lane. The race will not restart.
