Joan Mir and Fabio Quartararo discovered the Sepang route today. Indeed, Joan Mir is making her world debut this year while her French teammate was out due to injury last year.

This did not prevent them from both positioning themselves in the Top 10 at the end of this first day, the Nice driver even going so far as to take the lead during the first part of the morning session, on a generally dry track. A more than rapid adaptation which did not fail to be noticed, even if the differences are still very high for the category.

At the end of the day, it was Fabio Quartararo who was the most consistent of the Leopard drivers, placing 10th in the dry in the morning and 9th in the afternoon in the wet.

fabio quartararo, 10th at 1,6s : “It was a good day, it was the first time I drove on this circuit. The most important thing today was really learning the track, and I have to say I really like the layout. We will see what we can do in the dry because in the afternoon there was a lot of water on the track, but I managed to improve in these conditions, and we will see what happens tomorrow! »
