It is a Sepang track going towards the dryer which was offered to the MotoGP riders who had to do without their new World Champion Marc Márquez. The one who had achieved the best time in the Malaysian morning torpor suffers from gastro. He therefore remained at rest as Iannone with convalescent back. Enough to win the prize for a Miller at the party.

It will be recalled that the challenge at the end of the season lies in the attribution of the status of vice-world champion while the third place is not yet acquired. So many accessions which concern Red, Lorenzo et Casa Particular in Viñales.

To perform well on this Malaysian afternoon, you had to be patient and it was indeed the last laps promising a more welcoming bitumen which decided the order of the time sheet. Some had rain tires, others had intermediates, and that's a Miller to the first gums mentioned which made the difference.

The winner of Assen leads a reverse classification where the usual last ones are this time first. If Crutchlow et Barbera follow, Smith, Baz et Redding follow in front Dovizioso who keeps Bradl in respect. Rabat et Aoyama close the top 10.

Red is thirteenth, which is still better than Lorenzo sixteenth and Casa Particular in Viñales seventeenth. The fact remains that, cumulatively, it is the morning ranking which prevails so that, for the moment, Crutchlow or Dovizioso are not yet counted among the qualifiers in Q.2.
