New rider for the 2020 Superbike World Championship at Phillip Island, fresh from the British Superbike Championship (winner on Ducati), Scott Redding was the best Panigale V4 R driver from the first weekend of the World Championship. He finished three times on the third step of the podium, each time finishing first Ducati rider, notably ahead of his teammate Chaz Davies. But that's not the only reason why the Briton quickly made friends within the team.

As BSB champion with the BeWiser Ducati team, Scott Redding was hired to succeed Alvaro Bautista, who left for Honda. Visually, the 27-year-old young man has everything of a rock star, notably with his large tattoos.

Thanks to his excellent Australian performance, Redding proved that Ducati's choice was the right one. He currently occupies second place in the provisional World Championship ranking with 39 points, behind alex lowes (51), in front Toprak Razgatlioglu (34) et Jonathan Rhea (32)

“It’s like Scott has been with us forever,” declared team manager Serafino Foti, impressed by the Briton. “We know how to behave with our drivers in order to build a good relationship. Scott is a very simple man, but at the same time very professional. »

Redding has already clearly outperformed the experienced Chaz Davies in his first World Superbike Championship race weekend.

“To be perfectly honest, we weren't surprised. We believed in him before. We knew his potential and we were sure he would be competitive this season,” continued Foti. “But what surprised us was that it was his first race and the expectations were very high. From my point of view, he handled the pressure very well throughout the race weekend. »

Foti is in close contact with the people who make up the team. “The drivers are important to us, we are in constant contact. Their statements are important for development. »

“They are also going through a difficult time at the moment. They work out indoors to stay in shape. Our hands are tied. We try to stay positive together, so that we can resume our activities later. »

Scott Redding has come a long way since his first 125cc World Championship victory at Donington Park in the 3 British Grand Prix, becoming the youngest ever Grand Prix winner at 2008 years and 15 days old.

He finished vice-World Champion in Moto2 in 2013 on a Kalex from the Marc VDS Racing Team, behind Pol Espargaró. Then he competed in 90 Grands Prix in Moto2, two seasons on Honda, two on Ducati, and one on Aprilia, with two podiums (third at Misano on Honda EG 0,0 Marc VDS in 2015, and third at Assen on Ducati Pramac in 2016 ).
