Vice-World Champion in 2003 and 2004 in MotoGP, winner of a 500 GP and 8 in MotoGP, Sete Gibernau is now Dani Pedrosa's advisor. Winner at Jerez in 2004, this weekend he supported Dani who, after taking pole position, completely dominated the Spanish Grand Prix from the first corner to the checkered flag.

After starting in the World Championship directly in 250cc, in Jerez in 3, Gibernau subsequently completed five full seasons in 1992 and then five and a half in MotoGP. He was on the podium thirty times and achieved thirteen pole positions.

Dani Pedrosa finished vice-World Champion three times in 2007, 2010 and 2012 in MotoGP, and he won his thirtieth success in this category on Sunday. It was his 146th podium in 263 GPs. If Sete advises him, he does not consider himself his coach: “I'm just a good friend. And I learn as much as I can for Dani, like when for example I recently tried the RC213V. It seemed like time had passed since my retirement in 2009. It was a nice gesture from Honda to offer me this test. It was fun and helped me understand some things better. It was a work situation. »

“In this sport, it's easy to say something snide, but it's hard to put it all into action. Because I affirm that happiness leads to victories. It is not victory that leads to happiness. I look at Dani and now I see a very positive guy. I have gone through many different phases in my career. I know what I can give. Dani is a very strong personality. But he still has to improve. On Sunday he faced a big challenge in Jerez.

“Dani is very strong. That's why he doesn't have to wait for certain circumstances until he can strike. Life is always about challenges that must be accepted. If a driver has talent, he must go to the tracks and face these challenges. You must view this “challenge” as an opponent, look them in the eye and accept the fight. There is no other way. »
