Don’t we say “he who loves well punishes well”? There is no doubt that Paolo Simoncelli forms almost filial ties with his riders, particularly with Tatsuki Suzuki at the moment.

However, this does not prevent the team manager from being lucid about their performance (this is the case for many of his colleagues) and from expressing it in the press (this is much less so).

This is why we particularly appreciate his weekend analyzes and rebroadcast them here.

We are back from Silverstone where last year we were unable to race due to rain which affected the track conditions. We return to the UK and once again rumors about the drivers' future play a big role.

I have just been told that in Moto3, the race had almost the same audience share as MotoGP, and that is very good news for me. I keep saying that Moto3 races are exciting, fought until the last corner, breathtaking, and I am proud that our riders were among the protagonists of the British GP.

Although we had the same “mishaps” in qualifying (no penalties this time), Antonelli got 5th place on the grid and Suzuki 11th. It's not a bad result if we know that on the Silverstone circuit, it is easy to make a good comeback. The race ended with Niccolò 4th and Tatsu 5th, fighting until the last corner with the leading group. It was a tough race that kept me going until the end. I should be satisfied; Antonelli showed improvements in combat management and Tatsu is back on the track after two difficult races. He behaved like a professional driver by avoiding dangerous overtaking on his teammate even though he could have had a chance of getting on the podium. It's important to keep in mind that Nico is still fighting for the Championship, and Tatsu has done just that.

I should be satisfied, but that eagerness, that “thing” that makes you “bite” your rivals when you are fighting for victory, and allows you to take a blind risk without thinking about the consequences, is still missing. This is what makes the difference between a driver and a champion. As long as we lack this crazy, impatient will to win, we will continue to have good races and get closer to the podium, but… we will never get it.
