The victory of Cal Crutchlow during the last meeting in Brno awakened British honor. A success which could not have come at a better time, on the eve of a British Grand Prix which will take place next weekend. The Honda LCR rider succeeded Barry Sheene in the Czech Republic and ended a 35-year drought across the Channel. So at Silverstone, we're going to pull out all the stops.

What's more, the first world title of the late Barry Sheene dates from 1976. There are therefore 40 candles to blow out and we will even be able to do the second next year since the one who was on the motorbike what James Hunt was in Formula 1 took its second crown in 1977.

The organizers have therefore planned laps of honor on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday it will be at 18:25 p.m. French time and on Sunday, the finale with a parade announced to be grandiose will take place at 12:10 p.m. at the toquante du continent.

250s, 500s and 750s will hit the track. The son of Barry Sheene, Freddy, will ride a Yamaha OW48R, formerly whipped by Kenny roberts. Mick doohan, five times world champion, will ride on his NSR 500, Colin Edwards will be there as Randy Mamola, Graeme Crosby, Niall Mackenzie, Stan Woods, Steve Baker, Wayne Gardner, Simon Crafar, Franco Uncini, Steve Parrish and Wil Hartog. Last but not least, Paul Smart will be on the Suzuki that Barry Sheene raced with at Assen, during his first 500 victory. Rule Britannia!
