Cal Crutchlow has reason to be satisfied with his last four Grands Prix. Austria aside, they actually ended up with just as many podiums, including one victory. This Sunday, on his home ground of Silverstone, he took second place to the great joy of his compatriots. Enough to erase a disastrous start to the season!

We can even talk about a turnaround, to the point where Honda no longer hesitates to submit a new chassis to benefit from its evaluation. The Briton is therefore gaining volume within the HRC and at the end of this British Grand Prix it is also he who presents himself in the hierarchy as the best pilot of the winged coat of arms, after having known how to bring a certain Marc Marquez. Not so bad !

« It's great to have done this type of race and to have fought these battles. I think the audience had a good time too. I thank all my team and Honda who have worked so hard these last few races. The start of the season was difficult, we had crashes, I had bad feelings with the bike and especially with the front tire. But we worked hard and this is the reward for our efforts ».

« When I was fighting against Marc and Valentino, I felt comfortable. I also congratulate Maverick on his victory, he did a great job and a fantastic race. It's good for MotoGP that there are now seven different winners this year. Now, being on the podium in front of my audience is something special. I feel good now on the bike, I can go to the limit. I am also in good shape and I am happy and proud of this race at home ».

A Silverstone track which had already given him the double in Superbike during 2010. With this new good result, the LCR rider comes back to within three points of Dovizioso and ten lengths fromAndrea Iannone, the two Ducati officials that he had given winning the morning of the race. He is also now the first private pilot overall to the detriment of Pol Espargaro.
