Great Britain has done its duty to remember its former World Champion Barry Sheene. A name that Cal Crutchlow had put a little more in the spotlight since his victory in the Czech Republic.

By triumphing in Brno, the LCR driver reminded us that England had been waiting 35 years for its new hero in the premier category. With a character at least as strong and an identical verve, the Supersport World Champion honors a heritage whose inventory was partially made on the Silverstone track last weekend.

Before a race which once again highlighted a Crutchlow second in the end in front of his compatriots massed in the stands, a parade in honor of Barry Sheene took place with the old machines driven by the Briton who died in 2003. The Suzukis of the double 1976 and 1977 World Champion were there like the Yamaha which gave him his nineteenth and final victory in 1981 on the side of a Anderstop track which then organized the Swedish Grand Prix.

The son of the late champion was at the helm while for the sake of history, we will not forget that the last Briton to have succeeded Barry Sheene at the top of a world championship is a Danny Kent who won the Moto3 title last year.
