FP4 : Iannone is the first of the top guns to set a milestone in 2'20.841, ahead Petrucci, Miller, Dovizioso, Laverty and Rossi. The private pilots have a field day and Petrucci takes back command while Loris Baz is in 8th position. The positions pass quickly, and we are now running in 2'18, Iannone ahead of Dovizioso, Marquez and Rossi. Lorenzo is 14th.
A little after mid-session, Dani Pedrosa reminds everyone that his aversion to rain is only a distant memory, by recording a 2'18.185, while Scott Redding apart from the minor fault.
Marc Marquez takes the lead while Jorge Lorenzo undermines the reputation attributed to him and precedes his teammate by a second, in 4th position.
Two minutes from the checkered flag, Dovizioso and Crutchlow made their effort, the first achieving the best time in 2'17.688, a tenth ahead of the second. But at the last second, it's still Marc Marquez who imposes his Honda by 1 hundredth of a second. These three drivers are less than a tenth behind, with the others more than half a second behind.
Q1 : Participate, Pol Espargaro, Danilo Petrucci, Hector Barbera, Yonny Hernandez, Jack Miller, Alex Lowes, Eugene Laverty, Loris Baz, Stefan Bradl, Alvaro Bautista and Tito Rabat.
Alex Lowes and Loris Baz take the lead before being overwhelmed by Bradl, Espargaro, Miller and Petrucci; things are underway! Thanks to the rain tires, the drivers do not stop to change them and the lap times are determined exclusively by their courage and confidence.
Eugene Laverty did not miss out on it in the wet and took the lead ahead of Lowes.
Two minutes from the checkered flag, Loris Baz rings the charge and pushes everyone back by 2 tenths, in 2'18.552. But two minutes is enough to Jack Miller to improve this time by 2 hundredths, then Eugene Laverty of 3 tenths.
Mass is said, the Anglo-Saxons remain the masters of the rain!
Q2 : Jorge Lorenzo seems to want to ward off fate by setting off alone to achieve a first 2'22.192 while Jack Miller fell without gravity, losing the front of his Honda at turn #17.
Cal Crutchlow then recorded a very serious first time in 2'19.264 relegating all the competition to almost 3 seconds! The situation remained as it was until two minutes before the checkered flag where Valentino Rossi reduces this gap to one second, ahead of Marquez, Redding, Vinales and Lorenzo.
At this moment Dovizioso and Marquez fall almost simultaneously, the first heavily at turn #15, the second without gravity at #1.
Laverty and Redding will ultimately be the only private drivers to benefit from these weather conditions, the first even being in a position to improve on his 6th place before falling on his last lap.
