The weather forecasts continue to prove reliable and a beautiful Andalusian sun is now bathing the Jerez de la Frontera circuit.

It is therefore this time on a completely dry track heated to 22° that the drivers will now be able to confirm or not this mysterious predominance of the Hondas and the temporary poor form of the Yamahas that we were able to observe yesterday.

We will also carefully monitor the progress of Jorge Lorenzo, the Aprilia and the KTM whose Big Bang engine seems to bring a real plus.

Before the red lights go out, Pedrosa, Miller, Crutchlow, Lorenzo, Petrucci, Vinales, Bautista, Dovizioso, Aleix and Pol Espargaro are qualified for Q2.

From his second round launched, Jorge Lorenzo, currently placed fourth, improved all his partials and took second position, just before Marc Marquez don't do the same: obviously the track is very fast this morning and the session gets off to a flying start!

Same process for Johann zarco which rises to sixth place in the first 10 minutes.

Marc Márquez continues his effort and this time lights all the sections in red, therefore achieving the best provisional lap of the weekend in 1'39.413. Cal Crutchlow follows suit by 2 tenths and Johann zarco at 0,324.

Most of the drivers are in medium/medium (except Pedrosa Hard before) and the first run ends with a completely upset provisional classification: Marquez, Pedrosa, Crutchlow, Zarco, Lorenzo, Dovizioso, Folger, Miller, Rossi and Bautista while Loris Baz appears to have been hampered by a technical problem.

At mid-session, we found three Honda in the lead, as during the two sessions yesterday, but this time both Yamaha of the Tech3 team take over the torch from Iwata to appear in the top 7 by supervising the two Ducati official.

At the brand level, we observe thatAprilia (Sam Lowes) and KTM use their “fin” fairing.

17 minutes from the checkered flag, Tito Rabat decides to switch to a soft rear tire, which allows him to enter the top 10 and leave it Valentino Rossi.

Five minutes later, Alex Espargaro creates a sensation by seizing fourth position on the handlebars of his Aprilia (soft rear tire and without aerodynamic fairing), just 3 tenths of Marc Márquez's best time.

Most of the drivers in the top 10 wait for the very last minutes in their box while Valentino Rossi, equipped with a soft rear tire, made his effort and took provisional pole position. As a result, many of them came out of their box on soft rear tires and lit the partials in red, starting with Dani Pedrosa and Scott Redding who took the first two places.

The times are extremely tight and there is not half a second between first and tenth.

Dani Pedrosa then knocks out the board creating a gap of 7 tenths on this one, when Jorge Lorenzo responds, only 2 tenths behind the Honda driver.

Jonas Folger positions himself third before having to give up this place to Maverick Vinales.

Johann Zarco, who did a sort of race simulation at the start of the session, finally tries the soft/soft configuration which allows him to re-enter the top 10 at the end of a completely crazy session, while Jorge Lorenzo takes the second beat.

Valentino Rossi ensures the essential by seizing fifth position.
