Barely alighting from his Honda RC213V, and happy to have achieved a pole position on a circuit previously known to be favorable to Yamahas, Dani Pedrosa spoke to the site's microphone MotoGP.com that he had to use a bit of strategy with Marc Márquez who was a little too clingy…

Dani Pedrosa : “well, obviously, my goal today was to be on the front row, because for the past year, I've been struggling during qualifying, I'm a little off the pace during the last laps. I really wanted to improve this point, little by little, but today the feeling was good and I was already in a good position before the final run. But Marc had pole and when I left the pit lane, I immediately saw that his strategy was to stay behind me, so that didn't allow me to do my lap because he was following me, and if I was doing my turn he would have done his behind too. So it was a bit strategic here, but I focused on myself and was able to manage to do a good lap since, like I said, the feeling was good. So I'm very happy and I thank everyone and my team. »
