Perhaps the famous “salad box” under the saddle of the Ducati GP17 was designed to integrate a Mass Damper or any other sophisticated system based on gyroscopes having repercussions on the handling of the Italian machines…

Perhaps even this carbon box, which required the exhaust to be moved, contained such a system at some point during the season...

The fact remains that yesterday, when Danilo Petrucci lost control of his bike in turn #8 of the Jerez circuit, his GP17 simply revealed to us a stack of electronic boxes hanging under his saddle. Or a simple work on the distribution of masses (and undoubtedly better accessibility to these boxes, the Ducati being a real gas factory in this area)!

Disillusionment, therefore, for high-tech aficionados, even if we had suspected it for a while, given the ever-increasing number of electrical wires coming out of said saddle...
