During this very rainy MotoGP Grand Prix of the 2018 season which has just taken place in Valencia, Valentino Rossi and Maverick Vinales had the opportunity to successfully test a new appendage that is both aerodynamic and hydrodynamic on their Yamaha M1s.

Made up of a sort of imposing deflector in front of the rear wheel, it is intended to prevent water coming from the bottom of the fairing from ending up on the tire.

This is especially innovative due to the imposing dimension and the element in question and, apparently in view of the sprays of lateral water, its effectiveness.

Only small constraint; equipped with what we nickname the shark's tooth, the Yamaha can no longer be mounted on its work table without this substantial deflector being dismantled, since it now comes up against the aluminum ramp allowing the motorcycles to be hoisted onto their table .

Consequently, it is immediately removed as soon as the motorcycle returns to its box, at the end of the session.
