The final tests before the resumption of the World Championship in the Superbike category began yesterday in Barcelona. Ducati brought several technical innovations to the British rider.

The final round of Superbike testing begins in Barcelona before the World Cup resumes on August 1 in Jerez (Spain). On track all the factory teams: Ducati, Yamaha, BMW, Kawasaki and Honda. At the end of June, Ducati and Kawasaki had already carried out tests in Misano, with two days ending with a super time achieved by Scott Redding, who only arrived at a tenth of the times of the MotoGP test riders present on track. The tests in Barcelona are organized over two days, from July 8 to 9.

What's new on the Redding Ducati

In the video above, published on the social networks of the Aruba.it team, you can notice some technical changes that Ducati will try on this occasion on Scott Redding's V4 R. Compared to the tests carried out in Misano, the saddle is now slightly wider, and the profile of the tank has been modified, it is slightly thinner. These changes serve to improve ergonomics, i.e. the rider's position in the saddle. Scott Redding is a great rider, and the technicians at Borgo Panigale are trying to improve his comfort and position on the bike. But there is also work on weight distribution at the front and rear. One to two centimeters of difference in position on the saddle has a significant impact on the handling of the motorcycle, including tire management.

Changes have also been made to the front of Chaz Davies' bike

Ergonomic adaptations are also made to improve the ergonomics of Chaz Davies. The Welsh driver did not shine during the two days on the Riviera, on this occasion he will be there to regain ground against Scott Redding who with the third place obtained at Phillip Island very quickly earned his stripes as a reference driver . On this occasion, the two official drivers are accompanied by Michael Rinaldi who, in the absence of the Go Eleven team, will ride with the Panigale V4 R of the test team. In Misano, the driver from Romagna finished very well: third, quite close to Redding and Jonathan Rea.
