The Spanish driver did not have an easy race at Portimao and did not manage to be titled. Everything will be decided during the last round at Magny-Cours in two weeks.

The title chances were quite slim this weekend for Ana Carrasco in Portimao, but they did exist. To do this, she absolutely had to finish at the front and benefit from a little luck to see her three main rivals further down the rankings. Unfortunately, things did not go so smoothly and this weekend she did not become the first female world champion in history.

If the start of the weekend went rather well, Carrasco then encountered difficulties which did not allow him to do better than ninth in qualifying. Despite a fairly calm start, she lost positions and found herself riding around fifteenth place for a large part of the race before finally crossing the finish line in eleventh position. She finally finished tenth thanks to a penalty imposed on Borja Sanchez, his closest rival in the Championship before starting the race. He actually had contact with Luke Grunwald, another contender for the title, and the fall of the latter earned him a penalty.

With one opponent down and the other two in tenth and eleventh place, it was ultimately the fourth and final contender for the title who gained a considerable advantage. Scott Deroue, arrived in Portimao twenty-eight points behind Ana Carrasco, leaves with only ten thanks to his superb victory this Sunday.

Everything will therefore be decided during the last round at Magny-Cours on September 30 between four protagonists. With his fall, Borja Sanchez is now out of the race for the title. On the other hand, Ana Carrasco, Scott Deroue, Mika Pérez et Luke Grunwald standing in ten, eighteen and twenty-two points, one of them will inevitably be the new Supersport 300 world champion in a fortnight's time.
