While María Herrera will participate in her second SSP300 season in 2019 and Ana Carrasco is still waiting to be confirmed, a third woman will enter the Championship.

The Supersport 300 World Championship is successful for women. The historic coronation of Ana Carrasco and the great performances of María Herrera in 2018 opened the door to a new young woman aged only 16, Beatriz Neila, for 2019. However, she remains objective about the reasons for this sudden success, as she confided to Motoracing : “I think it's for economic reasons because the Supersport 300 costs a lot less than the other categories. In addition, in Spain, the RFME (the Spanish motorcycling federation, editor's note) is starting to make quite a move for women's motorcycling. In the CEV alone there are two categories, 600 and 1000, reserved for women. »

Born on April 15, 2002 in Madrid, she began her career in 2011 through the different Spanish championships (Cuna de Campeones, Catalan Championship, Mediterranean Championship) in different categories (Minimotos, 80cc, 250cc), before arriving in the Red Bull Rookies Cup and the European Talent Cup in 2017.

Victim of a violent accident during the pre-season, his convalescence lasted months and conditioned his year. However, she did not give up and bounced back in the Spanish Supersport 300 Championship this season, where she scored several podiums and finished fourth overall. She also won second place in the Yamaha bLU cRU challenge which allows the best six riders to participate in the Supersport 300 World Championship.

Selected thanks to her performances, Beatriz Neila will therefore join the World Cup next year within the Yamaha MS Racing team and will become the third woman on the grid with María Herrera and Ana Carrasco (although the latter has not yet been officially confirmed ). Given Carrasco's career, the young Spaniard can aim big in 2019. However, she keeps her feet on the ground: “I don't set any goals, I just want to learn from the best in the championship and be at the forefront as much as possible. We don't yet know how long it will take me to adapt and if everything will go well, so I'm not aiming for particular places. Regardless, I am a fighter and I will give my all to achieve the best possible results. »
