The Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, makes no concessions, promising repression on the issue of improving cohabitation between scooters, bicycles, pedestrians, taxis... in the streets of the French capital. As reported by ANSA, Anne Hidalgo announced a series of regulations that will come into play by summer 2023, mainly to guarantee greater security for citizens.

During a ceremony at the Town Hall, Anne Hidalgo was inspired by a public consultation from which emerged the difficult coexistence between these vehicles and the need for a set of more targeted rules, which will emerge from a consultation – planned for February 2023 – between citizens and experts to produce a specific “highway code” with which to limit faulty behavior, make traffic flow more smoothly even in cycle lanes and prevent – for example – sidewalks from becoming dangerous due to 'difficult coexistence between bicycles, scooters and pedestrians.

In Paris, as desired among others by the Town Hall, as part of its broader urban mobility policy, for several months paid parking has also been compulsory for motorcycles and scooters (excluding electric ones) with high prices, while the municipality urged sharing companies whose contract with the Parisian administration expires in February 2023 to find solutions to make the use of these vehicles (there are around 15 rental scooters in Paris) less dangerous, recalling that among the many incidents that have occurred in recent years, there have also been tragic events.
