The RSV4 has brought a lot to an Aprilia brand which has forged a new identity with it. The powerful sports car with advanced electronics did its job, even bringing World Champion titles won on its favorite terrain, the WSBK. Since then, the competition has reacted, but Noale's missile is still at the forefront. And it’s not this latest revised version that will contradict the trend…

Aprilia is lacking in image and yet, the Noale brand is doing what it takes to perfect its identity and rally loyalists. The opus RSV4 is the demonstration that there is not only Ducati in Italy. As it enters its 2021 vintage, it gets up to date and loses none of its power of seduction.

The Noale brand is having a field day at the moment by releasing its complete cubed family in 660. RS and Thunder please and soon Touareg will complete the offer. However, the big sister with the V-four does not stay at the dock. The Italian sports car is updated and displays a more modern and at the same time aerodynamic look for the new year. The rest is in unison with the powerful V4 engine which meets Euro 5 standards. The electronics are even more refined and the driving position is completely new

The first thing we notice is thatAprilia does not opt for ostentatious fins which flourish to better suggest the MotoGP. The aerodynamic appendages in theAprilia RSV4 are primarily there for efficiency. From then on, the RSV4 features a fascia that is not only sleek and sharp, but also clean of any external appendages. This is thanks to the double-walled sidewall solution that hides the aerodynamic fins, designed to increase front-end stability at high speeds, improve engine cooling and divert hot air away from the rider's legs.

The “nose” changes thanks to the triple LED headlight, equipped with DRL perimeter lights and a “corner lights” function, which automatically activates the projectors inside the curve to increase visibility when leaning. With the new combination, the 4 RSV2021 also features an all-new fuel tank and a redesigned seat. In addition, the controls are more functional and intuitive and the TFT instrumentation is larger.

Aprilia didn't just update its RSV4

Another step forward is in terms of electronics with even more precise management of throttles and various driving aids thanks to the new Marelli 11MP control unit and the new six-axis inertial platform. The platform APRC is also complemented by the introduction of the multilevel engine brake control, which accompanies the six driving modes, three for the track (including two customizable) and three for the road (including one customizable), to act on the Traction parameters Control, Wheelie Control, engine brake, ABS and other parameters managed.

The aesthetics and electronics are therefore optimized, but updates to the chassis and engine are also coming to the RSV4. The powerful V4 becomes Euro 5 but does not lose all its strength, confirming the 217 CV of which it is capable and gaining a little thrust thanks to an increasing maximum torque. This is thanks to the renewed exhaust system and the increase in cylinder capacity, which increases to 1099 cm 3 (+22 cm 3).

The swingarm is completely new: it is lighter and it has the beam turned downwards, a solution inspired by that adopted on the Aprilia RS GP of MotoGP which, explains Aprilia, allows for increased rear stability during acceleration.

There will always be two versions available: RSV4 (in Dark Losail color only) and RSV4 Factory (in both Aprilia Black and Lava Red colors). As with previous versions, the Factory represents the most sophisticated version, recognizable by the forged aluminum rims, the Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension system and the Brembo Stylema brake calipers.
