Aprilia

At Aprilia, we recently focused on the revelation of the 660 family, which will enrich the customer base. But we haven't left out the powerful big sisters. Armed with a captivating V4, they are available in a sports car and a martial roadster. The RSV4 of the new vintage has been profoundly revised and it could therefore not be any different from the Tuono…

For the year 2021, the Thunder V4 is renewed in the aesthetics, the driving position and in the chassis. Additionally, the engine switches toEuro 5 with the same power. The electronic equipment is also enriched which, among other things, can count on a six-axis inertial platform

The sportswoman RSV4 and Tuono V4 “hypernaked” are related, since the latter derives strictly from the first. It is therefore normal that the updates made by Aprilia to one are then transferred to the other. This is what the streetfighter par excellence offers for 2021. It will be renewed in the same aspects as the faired sister, in terms of engine, look, ergonomics and chassis.

The exuberant 4° V65 is not upset, despite the Transition to Euro 5. Unlike the RSV4, it retains here the displacement of 1 cm 077, as well as its power of 175 ch with 121 Nm of torque. This evolution is accompanied by a set of electronic systems APRC, which now uses the more powerful Marelli 11MP control unit and a new six-axis inertial platform.

Thus comes the control of the adjustable engine brake, which sits alongside 6 driving modes, three for the track (including two customizable) and three for the road (including one customizable), which act on the parameters of Traction Control, Wheelie Command, engine brake, ABS, Launch Control, speed limiter and cruise control.

Aprilia makes its Tuono ever more versatile

More profound are the changes to appearance and driving pleasure. The shapes of the Tuono V4 1100 2021 are inspired by those of RS660 and also the recently presented little sister Tuono 660. The front optical group with triple LED spotlight, with DRL lights and cornering lighting system is worth the detour. Furthermore, the “double wall” solution of the fairing, which allows a clean and elegant appearance without sacrificing the aerodynamic fins which are “hidden” in the cavity is appreciated.

Compared to the previous version, the Tuono V4 2021 is also more comfortable and spacious for the rider: the tank and tail have a new design for better ergonomics, while the fairing increases in size becoming more protective. For the passenger comes a wider saddle and lowered footrests. The chassis has not been forgotten in the update with the introduction of a swingarm derived from the MotoGP, with a lower reinforcement beam, designed to have greater rigor in acceleration.

The 4 Tuono V1100 2021 is also available in the Factory “track” version, recognizable by richer and more specialized standard equipment such as the Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension.

Aprilia did as well on its Tuono as on its RSV4, and for good reason...
