Aprilia is celebrating ten years of the RSV4 by launching the RSV4 X, an exclusive version limited to 10 units custom-made by Aprilia Racing.

The factory with 54 world titles has the sole objective of offering maximum performance on the track and, with its 225 hp and 165 kg, the Aprilia RSV4 X is one of the lightest and most powerful supersport motorcycles of all time. It is the first production motorcycle in the world to have a gearbox with a neutral under first gear, and Brembo GP4-MS calipers.

The valuable experience of a victorious racing department like that of Aprilia which, during its short history, has won 54 world titles including seven in the SBK world championship, has made it possible to acquire skills and transfer them to series products to offer everyone the same sensations as the motorcycles prepared by Aprilia Racing.

The RSV4 is built around a 4° V65 engine, heir to a dynasty that has won 18 titles and 143 Grands Prix in the 250 GP category. This is complemented by the latest electronic systems applied to manage the engine and dynamic performance of the motorcycle. Aprilia was the first manufacturer to adopt the Ride-By-Wire multimap accelerator as standard equipment, but above all the first to patent the APRC dynamic control system, with exclusive self-calibration and wheelie control characteristics.

Aprilia Racing's experience is also evident in the work done to lighten the bike, resulting in a rather exceptional dry weight of 165kg. To do this, Aprilia Racing has selected a series of rare and lightweight components, such as the carbon fairing, enriched with a special graphic inspired by the livery of the Aprilia RS-GP from the 2019 MotoGP World Championship, as well as a tank having the same shape as the original, but lighter. Another element derived from the competition is the control panel for adjusting the main electronic controls of the RSV4 engine case protections, adjustable footrests and the upper triple clamp, which allow additional weight savings. The Marchesini forged magnesium rims magnify the already spectacular handling of the RSV4 with the adoption of Pirelli slick tires.

The inimitable 4 cc V1100 engine is selected and prepared directly by Aprilia Racing, the most advanced platform of the Piaggio Group. This special preparation involves manual assembly and adjustment of all tolerances, as is the case for competition engines. The distribution system is also revised, with the adoption of new, more aggressive intake camshafts, taken from the SBK, and new valve return springs.

The Akrapovic exhaust system is equipped with titanium headers and a carbon silencer, while the air filter has been replaced by a Sprintfilter element: the same one used by Aprilia Racing in MotoGP.

Electronic tuning is guaranteed by specific mapping of the computer, with dedicated track settings. These components ensure an increase in maximum power, from 217 hp for the standard model to 225 hp for the RSV4 X.

The Aprilia V4 is equipped with the ANN (Aprilia No Neutral) system, the gearbox in neutral located below first gear, which accelerates the shift from first to second, and prevents any gear shifting errors. This solution comes directly from Aprilia's experience in WSBK and MotoGP and is made available to the public on a production model for the very first time.

Another world first concerns the Brembo braking system, with the company choosing the Aprilia RSV4X to showcase its mass-machined GP4-MS calipers. These act on a pair of steel brake discs with T-Drive technology and are controlled by a solid 19×16 radial pump also machined from solid.
