In this weekend dominated by WSBK news, it is good to remember that the Aprilia brand enjoyed glory there with an RSV4 project which in its time brought the range of production sports cars into another dimension. This was well worth an exclusive X version for a truly informed public…

The Aprilia RSV4 is the sportswoman of all superlatives. From its purpose to its distribution through its technical sheet, everything is exceptional. Born from the famous success machine Aprilia RSV4 1100, the new creature from Noale's house is finally ready to be distributed to the ten lucky and wealthy buyers. It's a super sports car, special with a carbon fairing, made up of many special elements.

Ten customers will be able to have this Aprilia RSV4. Actually eight, because Max Biaggi et Andrea Iannone have already ordered theirs. Factory Aprilia has in fact produced ten copies of its missile to celebrate the tenth anniversary of a project which won seven Superbike world titles. Buyers will be able to collect their machine directly in Noale, and they can go exclusively to the competition department.

Public chat the Aprilia RSV4, the entire Aprilia Racing experience has been concentrated thanks to targeted lightweighting interventions, which have made it possible to achieve the weight of 165 kg. Aprilia Racing has selected a series of super light components, such as the carbon fairing, enriched with dedicated graphics, inspired by the livery of the RS GP Aprilia entered in MotoGP. The dashboard is also clearly derived from the sport for the adjustment of the main electronic controls which is equipped RSV4.

Many aluminum parts are made of solid material, such as the clutch lever, front brake lever guard, crankcase guards, adjustable footrests, valuable details that help to further reduce weight. The rims Marchesini in forged magnesium reinforce the behavior of the RSV4 and adapt to slick tires Pirelli.

The 4 cc V1078 engine is prepared directly by Aprilia Racing and this special consideration involves assembly by hand and fine tuning of all tolerances, as for engines intended for competitions. The timing system adopts new intake camshafts, new valve return springs and more aggressive, SBK-derived cam profiles.

The exhaust system Akrapovic features titanium headers and a carbon terminal, while the air filter has been replaced with a filter element Sprint : it is the highest permeability air filter available on the market, it is the same one used by Aprilia Racing in MotoGP. Electronic adjustment is guaranteed by specific mapping of the control unit. These components ensure an increase in maximum power compared to the already excellent 217 hp of the standard model up to the mark 225 hp.

The Aprilia V4 is equipped with the system ANN (Aprilia No Neutral), the gearbox with neutral positioned under first gear which accelerates the gear change, thus avoiding uphill errors. A solution derived directly from Aprilia's experience in SBK and MotoGP. For the first time, it is available on a model intended for sale to the public.

The braking system Brembo is another novelty from racing. Brembo chose the Aprilia RSV4 X for the caliper launch GP4-MS which act on a pair of steel discs with T-Drive technology. In short, a true collector's item.
