Second Viñales version, the RX-7V is a concentrate of Arai know-how. Top of the range among the top of the range, the Japanese integral is clearly apart from current production. As always, Arai offers this helmet (released in 2016) discreet developments but always present with the same goal: more safety and incomparable comfort.
3 mm here, 24 there, 11% better, 30 grams less... It's in the details that we have to dissect the RX-7V to see the changes compared to the previous version. Arai doesn't like upheaval, preferring evolution or adjustment. The high end is no exception to the rule.
An anatomical shape of the shell with points of fixation of the screen (VAS allowing opening on an arc of a circle and not on a pivot-style ball joint) lowered by 24 mm compared to the previous generation for better integration of the system and its shield on the sides of the helmet (in excess on the rounding in the past) is on the program. On the latter we find external ventilation “ Type 12 », 19% wider and 20mm longer, providing 11% more air while the neckband ensures better air circulation while making it easier to put on the helmet.
Comfort is always a crucial point for the manufacturer who offers his helmet a “ Eco-Pure » extra-soft while the Calotte PB-SNC² shell is 30 grams lighter, relying on a specific superimposed fiber structure, and is identical to the helmets used in Formula1. A space of 3 mm is gained at the chin bar. All with matte orange and gray paint by Aldo Drudi…
