With its AMB 001 (understand Aston Martin Brough Superior), Aston Martin invents the concept of a Concept-Bike manufactured in (small) series and sold to the public.

From Concept-Bike, this “thing” has an elegant and refined design to the point of not having the regulatory equipment to take to the street.

A production motorcycle, the object will actually be so with 100 units manufactured at a price set in advance at €108.

So why do it? The question may seem vulgar, and if we ask ourselves it, it is because we certainly do not have the means to place this sculpture in our living room...

So let's just enjoy this exercise based on a 997 horsepower 3cc turbo V-Twin carrier engine supplied by Brough Superior, a CNC machined "skeleton" with a carbon fiber rear subframe and "titanium interfaces". The CNC machined swingarm has a very nice curve and the Fior front suspension is provided by a double wishbone aluminum fork with a monobloc shock absorber behind the front fairing.

Carbon bodywork and leather saddle matching the handles are obviously required for what remains above all, in our eyes, a very beautiful exercise in style, some of which you will find below.

AMB 001 specifications

Motor
DOHC, 997cc, 8-valve, 88-degree V water-oil-cooled hybrid, 94mm x 71,8mm short stroke

It provides semi-dry sump lubrication which improves efficiency by reducing mechanical losses.
The transmission features a 6-speed extractable gearbox, APTC clutch and chain final drive.
The valvetrain is driven by a short Morse chain and gear train, a compact design for precision and reliability.

The engine casings are machined from mass by aeronautical suppliers.

Turbo
Turbo supercharging is an exclusive feature for production motorcycles.
The Variable Geometry Turbo blows into an intercooler for greater efficiency. Its modern low-inertia turbine avoids the reaction time of the turbo which had been damaging for attempts on motorcycles in the 80s.
The behavior of the powerful engine is full, with quick response and high torque across a wide rev range for driving pleasure.

The exhaust manifold is made from Inconel, a superalloy chosen for its thermal and mechanical properties.

Frame
The innovative chassis brings together the best techniques such as a CNC machined skeleton from the mass and bolted to the V-twin engine, constituting an element of the fully supporting chassis, combining rigidity and lightness. Then, the carbon fiber rear subframe and titanium interfaces complete this high-tech chassis.

The wheels are aluminum forgings of exclusive AMB 001 design.

The braking system is specific and developed by a racing brake specialist. All components are machined from solid, and the radial master cylinder is mounted with ball bearings on the radial piston for minimal effort and perfect feel.

Front fork
The solid-machined aluminum Fior double-wishbone fork separates steering and braking functions, providing precise steering and stability with a feeling of security. The bike does not dive when braking and remains very stable when braking into corners.
The digitally machined rear swingarm also features a progressive rocker damping system.

Body
The body parts are made entirely of carbon fiber, even when they are not visible under the paint. Some parts of the bodywork are structural and allow weight reduction.

The leather saddle is handmade, just like luxury car interiors, with high-quality leather and stitching to match the handlebar grips.

Derived from AMR supercars, Aston Martin Wings logos are made from a thin sheet of laser-cut metal and included in layers of lacquer for a perfect finish.
