As we saw with Ducati's sales report yesterday, 2020 was an obviously difficult year for the motorcycle industry, and that trend continues with BMW Motorrad's results. The German brand is doing quite well, with preliminary reports indicating that they only suffered a 3,6% drop in sales compared to 2019.

Although this is BMW Motorrad's second best annual sales figure, it is also the first time in nine years that BMW Motorrad has suffered a drop in sales figures, in the order of 3.6%. A total of 169 motorcycles and scooters were delivered to customers around the world in 272, and compared to the figures reported in 2020, this represents only a 2018% drop.

Although the group's preliminary report is quite lacking in other details of the brand, we can nevertheless assume that the confinements due to the pandemic occurring in Europe and the United States have strongly contributed to this drop in sales.

With the introduction of no less than 13 new models last year, including the BMW M1000RR and S1000R and R18, this should allow the Bavarian brand to stay afloat in 2021.
