Sepang, January 29, 2018. Valentino Rossi returns to the track with the original Sun/Moon design, 20 years after his first world title. The graphics from the Tavullia driver's early career will be applied to the Pista GP R, the flagship helmet of the Racing AGV range.

The brand of the Dainese Group, in collaboration with Aldo Drudi, historic designer of the helmets of the nine-time Italian world champion, has developed a limited edition of the Pista GP R which faithfully reproduces the livery worn by Valentino Rossi in 1997, the year of his first world title.

“It’s a magnificent helmet. I am honored that AGV decided to re-release it because it brings back many memories and unforgettable victories”, declared the Doctor who will endorse this exclusive version of the Pista GP R during the winter tests in Sepang.

Historical graphics enhanced with a touch of modernity. AGV and Drudi have renewed the background colors: the shell, made entirely of carbon fiber, serves as a dark background for the side which was at the time painted black, while the yellow is now fluorescent. On the chin guard there is a logo specially designed to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of Valentino Rossi's first world champion title.

A perfect synthesis of protection, performance and comfort, the Pista GP R helmet is the result of AGV Extreme Standards. This innovative integrated design protocol revolutionizes the design method and improves helmet performance in terms of impact protection, peripheral vision, design, weight, aerodynamics, ventilation and ergonomics. The pioneering AGV Extreme Standards process raises the level of technology in helmet research and development and represents a milestone in head protection systems.

The AGV Pista GP R 20 Years Limited Edition will be produced in 3000 units and available from February 2018 (around 1500 euros).
