Thanks to a record September, the Italian brand based in Bologna closes an excellent third quarter of 2022. After recovering from delays, the commercial and financial figures are positive. The Multistrada V4 is the best-selling model in the Ducati range.

In the first half of this year, logistical and supply difficulties affected global sales of motorcycles, particularly Ducati. Thanks to the third quarter results, and in particular the excellent performance in September which was described as the best ever recorded, the commercial and financial figures for the January-September period are up compared to last year.

49 motorcycles were delivered worldwide from the Bologna factory, a modest increase compared to 873 when 2021 motorcycles were sold, but in financial terms the growth was more significant. Above all, the loss of deliveries suffered in the first half of this year has been recovered, also thanks to flexibility and collaboration with industrial partners and unions.

Claudio Domenicali then recalled that the third quarter of 2021 had been the best ever and that the whole of 2021 represented the record for Ducati in terms of revenue.

The best-selling Ducati in the first nine months of this year was the Multistrada V4 with 8 motorcycles, or 776% of total sales, followed by the Monster 18 with 950 motorcycles and the Scrambler family with 6 total sales .

Italy confirms its position as the leading market for the Bolognese brand, with 8 motorcycles delivered, or almost 283% of the global total, an increase of 17% compared to 4, followed by the United States with 2021 motorcycles sold and from Germany with 6 models.

The emerging market where Ducati is making progress is China, with 4 motorcycles sold in the first nine months, and it is also the one showing the best growth: + 103%.

Turnover for the first nine months amounted to €872 million, up 21%, and represents the highest value ever recorded in Bologna. Operating profit increased from 67 million euros in the first nine months of 2021 to 109 million in 2022, an increase of 62%.

By the end of the year, Ducati plans to reach 820 points of sale worldwide in 90 countries.
