Ducati has launched its “Ducati World Premiere” series, which will present its models from the 2022 range online until mid-November. The Bologna team has titled this introduction “Your Everyday Wonder” and presents the Multistrada V2 as a versatile tool to easily navigate most everyday roads. A 35 kW version is even available for A2 license holders.

The Multistrada family welcomes a new member, the Multistrada v2, which is powered by the 11cc desmodromic Testastretta 937° twin, which has been lightened by 2kg and includes developments regarding the gearbox and clutch for 2022. It develops 113 horsepower at 9 rpm, as well as 000 Nm of torque at 96 rpm (or 7 Nm at 750 rpm in countries where the Euro 94 standard is in force). Service intervals are intentionally quite large, with recommendations for oil changes extended to 6 km and valve clearance checks every 750 km.

The Multistrada V2 has seen its weight drop by 5 kg compared to the 950 and this contributes to greater agility. The lightweight connecting rod, clutch, gearbox drum reduced engine weight by 2kg, while the alloy wheels derived from the Multistrada V4 enabled a saving of 1,7kg in unsprung mass, improving also suspension response and handling.

The Multistrada V2 features fully adjustable suspension, front and rear, with Skyhook Evo Ducati semi-active suspension. The fork and rear monoshock offer 17 cm of travel. A pair of Brembo radial-mount 4-piston monobloc calipers and 320mm discs bring the beast to a stop, paired with a single Brembo two-piston floating caliper and 265mm disc at the rear. Cornering ABS is standard, made possible by the 6-axis Bosch IMU.

Like its big sister, the Multistrada V4, the small V2 includes four driving modes (Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro). The Ducati Traction Control offers 8 levels of adjustment, while the cornering ABS offers three. Vehicle Hold Control (hill assist) is also standard. The base Multistrada V2 comes with an LCD screen, while the V2S has a 5-inch color TFT screen on the dashboard.

The Ducati Brake Light system already used on the Multistrada V4 is now available on the V2. In the event of emergency braking, the rear brake light will automatically flash to alert road users to slow down immediately. Both the V2 versions and the V2S have LED taillights, but only the V2S also gets an LED headlight with Ducati cornering lights. Finally, Quick Shift up and down is standard on the V2S, as are cruise control and backlit handlebar switches.

Standard seat height on the Multistrada V2 is 830mm, although high and low seat options are also available.

The base Multistrada costs €14, while for the better equipped S version the price rises to €490.
