Ducati has published its 2021 sales report, and things are looking good for the Italian factory, based in the Borgo Panigale district. In the official press release, Ducati announced the best ever revenue and operating profit. This also adds to very good sales performance. It appears that its efforts to revitalize much of its range have paid off, with new models such as the Monster and Multistrada V4 seeing impressive sales volumes.

In total, Ducati sold a record 59 motorcycles to two-wheel enthusiasts around the world. This resulted in an increase of 447% compared to the figures for 24, a year in which 2020 motorcycles were sold by the Bolognese brand. This sales volume even exceeded the pre-pandemic figures by more than 48%, where 042 motorcycles were handed over to customers in 12. Certainly, the sudden rise in motorcycle sales in 53 was also noted by several manufacturers , as many people have turned to motorcycling as their leisure activity of choice, following increased restrictions on social gatherings.

When it comes to revenues, Ducati has seen exceptional growth, with a total of 878 million euros for 2021. This is an increase of 30% compared to 2020 revenues which amounted to 676 million euros, and an increase of 23% compared to 2019 figures which stood at 716 million euros. The company's profits, meanwhile, also reached record levels with an increase of 154% compared to 2020: 61 million euros in 2021, compared to only 24 million euros in 2020. In 2019, Ducati recorded 52 million euros in profits, meaning that 2021 figures show growth of 18% compared to pre-pandemic figures.

Interestingly, Ducati was able to achieve record revenue and profit figures despite the various difficulties faced by the industry, including the shortage of semiconductors and problems in the supply chain.

Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati, looks back on these exceptional figures: “It is difficult to comment on economic results without taking into account the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. I really hope that hostilities will end as soon as possible, with a cessation of violence and a return to diplomacy to resolve differences. We are emerging from an already particularly complex year, in which, like all players in the production industry, we faced difficulties linked to the persistent supply crisis. However, thanks to great flexibility and constant dialogue with our partners and unions, at Ducati we have been able to satisfy a record number of passionate customers, while achieving excellent financial performance figures. These achievements are the result of teamwork that involved every employee working at Ducati in Borgo Panigale, in subsidiaries and dealerships around the world, as well as a select group of high-quality suppliers. I would like to thank them all for their passion and commitment, as well as all the Ducatisti who trusted us by choosing our motorcycles. »

In addition, Ducati has also made notable progress in technological developments, such as securing the place of supplier of next generation MotoE motorcycles, as well as numerous developments in the field of electric powertrains.

Overall, Ducati opened a total of 84 new dealerships worldwide in 2021. This increased Ducati's presence to a total of 790 dealerships in over 90 countries. For the first time, the number of Ducati employees exceeded 1 people in 900. Ducati claims to offer excellent working conditions for its employees, as well as an environment conducive to innovation. In fact, Ducati has obtained the Top Employer Italy certification for the eighth consecutive time. It's good to know that Ducati not only makes innovative motorcycles, but also takes care of its employees.
