Italian brands will not be sold, putting an end to the rumors about it. After confirming a reassessment of the presence of these labels within the German group last month, the supervisory board of the German galaxy confirmed its support for Herbert Diess's "electric" plan, general director of VAG.

Among the news that leaked after Volkswagen's supervisory board meeting on December 14, important information concerns the Italian brands: Lamborghini and Ducati will continue to be part of the German galaxy, putting an end to the rumors that indicated a possible sale.

Some imagined putting these brands up for sale, to allow Volkswagen to have the means to finance its transformation towards electric and digitalization. Others thought they would see Lamborghini detached from Volkswagen, like Ferrari, which went public a few years ago.

On the industrial and financial level, however, the fundamental point is the approval of the strategic plan launched by Managing Director Herbert Diess on the transformation of the automobile giant into a structure strongly characterized towards the production of electric vehicles.

Thus, the two Italian sports luxury brands will remain in the German group. The future of Bentley has also been decided: the English house will come under the jurisdiction of Audi. However, nothing has leaked about Bugatti which many insiders believe is in negotiations for a sale to electric car specialist Rimac.
