Ducati continues its “Ducati World Premiere” series, which presents its models from the 2022 range online until mid-November. This week, 2 new models were presented: the Scrambler 1100 Tribute Pro and 800 Urban Motard. The first celebrates 50 years since the introduction of the first air-cooled L-twin engine on a motorcycle based in Bologna. It sports an “ocher yellow” color like the twin-cylinder 450 Desmo Mono and 750 Sport from 1972, the Ducati logo from the 70s designed by Giugiaro and the black spoked wheels. The second is directly inspired by the Supermotard, the 17-inch rims, the livery inspired by the world of street art, the side plates and the Ducati branded flat saddle stand out.
To celebrate this important 50th anniversary occasion, Ducati has also relied on a few other historic design touchstones to introduce us to the new Ducati Scrambler 1100 Tribute Pro. He resurrected his iconic Ducati logo by Giugiaro, which is used extensively in this design. If that's not enough retro-modern glory for you, perhaps this historic Giallo Ocra color palette will do the trick.
The basis remains the same as the 1100 Dark PRO, the entry model in the larger displacement Scrambler family. It is therefore powered by the L-twin engine with desmodromic distribution and air cooling of 1079 cc, it is characterized by generous torque and vigorous traction but retains remarkable maneuverability. It develops 86 hp at 7 rpm with a torque of 500 kgm at 9,2 rpm.
Standard equipment includes the 15 liter tank with interchangeable aluminum side plates, two-dial LCD instrumentation, Bosch cornering ABS, traction control, three riding modes and under the saddle USB socket for phone charging portable.
That's not all that's new in the Land of Joy, however. On the complete opposite end of the stylistic spectrum, Ducati also announced its new Urban Motard Scrambler 800 variant in mid-October 2021. Where the Scrambler 1100 Tribute Pro is all about heritage, the Urban Motard is all about about living in the moment. Its new livery combines Star White Silk paint with Ducati GP '19 Red and Black graphics on the tank, inspired by graffiti.
Beyond the design which certainly does not go unnoticed, the Bolognese motorcycle also maintains in this version the characteristics of the family: the heart is the famous 803 cm³ L-twin engine with two-valve desmodromic distribution and air cooling, credited with a power of 73 hp at 8250 rpm and a torque of 6,7 kgm at 5750 rpm. You just have to have fun without ever putting the driver in difficulty, using a chassis that stands out for its agility both in traffic and between the curves and counter-curves of a hilly course.
It is also equipped with a flat saddle, low handlebars, side plates that give it a sort of industrial look, a bright red high mudguard at the front and fitted 17-inch spoke wheels. of Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tires.
Like other Scramblers, the Urban Motard has a teardrop fuel tank with interchangeable aluminum vents, weighs only 180 kg dry and has wide handlebars for easy control. The headlights, indicators and brake light are LED, the instrumentation is LCD, there is provision for DMS (Ducati Multimedia System), a USB socket under the saddle, ABS in curves and hydraulic clutch with adjustable control lever.
Ducati's two new Scrambler entries offer a new look, but no real changes to the engine. Additionally, A2 license holders can get one of the latest two members of the Scrambler family in 35 kW versions. The price of the new 1100 Tribute Pro starts at €13, as for the Scrambler Urban Motard, you will have to pay €990 to find it in your garage.
