Emergency measures continue to apply on the other side of the Alps, particularly on the Borgo Panigale side where Ducati is extending the closure of its factory.

The emergency situation continues in Italy, particularly for Ducati, which is extending safety measures at its Bologna site. The red brand officially announces the extension of the various decisions in force since the end of February.

Official statement: “Since the start of the health emergency in Italy, on Monday February 24, Ducati has adopted an important series of measures to limit the probability of the virus spreading in its Borgo Panigale factory, in a timely manner and in anticipation of 'subsequent arrangements. »
“The most important were the measurement of the temperature of each person entering the factory, movements limited to what is strictly necessary, a strong push for teleworking, meetings with a reduction in participants and an increase in the distance between them, a canteen with special procedures and a revision of schedules to reduce close contact between people. »

“Despite all this, Ducati had decided to suspend production from Friday March 13 to Wednesday March 18 inclusive, in order to implement a series of works and actions on the production lines, to further increase the level of safety of workers and introduce a shift program to halve the number of people on the assembly line at one time. »

“The postponement of the reopening to March 25 was necessary to ensure full compliance with the new guidelines (shared protocol, published March 14), which will require a few days of work and additional modifications to the structures. »
“On the other hand, in accordance with the guidelines, all activities related to new product development and market support will continue, making extensive use of teleworking technology. »

Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding: “ I am proud of the way Ducati workers are facing this difficult moment for our country.
My thanks go to all those who, on a daily basis and even in a difficult situation like this, confirm the great value of a united, supportive but also sensitive and attentive workforce. For them and for their safety, measures and choices like those we are making are necessary and due. However, all support services to our customers are guaranteed, first and foremost the supply of spare parts. We want to reassure Ducatisti and our dealers around the world: we are organizing ourselves to be ready for the restart and, even during this period of unavailability, we will not fail to support you
