The electric motorcycle continues to begin its epic journey while the automobile is already in its adolescence with this type of propulsion. The relationship does not go so well with motorcyclists and apart from machines promoting urban mobility, the vast majority of two-wheelers remain with a motor, and not a battery. At KTM, or more precisely at Pierer Mobility, we are still going to work on an electric roadster. With some original features…

PiererMobility has formalized the development of a new range of electric motorcycles and it is Husqvarna who will benefit from it in… 2022. The new line will be inspired by the lines Svartpilen et Vitpilen, the company giving it the provisional name of “ Husqvarna E-Pilen » to the next trendy opus.

The Husqvarna E-Pilen » will have a modular battery system, with a 4 kW or 10 kW electric motor. A sketch gives us a rough idea of what the bike might look like. It should be noted that there is plenty of time for development and changes will certainly take place before the planned 2022 launch.

Husqvarna scouts

The fact that PiererMobility working on an electric motorcycle is not in itself sensational. KTM already offers the 16 kW Freeride E and the 5 kW SX-E, while Husqvarna offers the 5 kW EE-5. GasGas, meanwhile, will soon launch its TXE trial electric motorcycle which will use a 15 kW motor.

All of these motorcycles, however, are dirt bikes. Here we have the company's first electric road motorcycle which will be a Husqvarna and not one KTM. Given the number of crossovers between the KTM and Husqvarna lines, we could expect an E-Duke at any time, but at the moment only an E-Pilen has been confirmed.

The modular battery system is also a surprise, although it is not yet clear which batteries will be interchangeable or perhaps upgradeable, with a choice of battery capacities to extend the range of action.
