Fifteen years of competition at the highest level have allowed HJC engineers to acquire indisputable know-how in reconciling lightness, resistance and aerodynamics. For 2024 the Korean manufacturer offers a derivative of the PIM Evo matrix which gives pride of place to carbon fiber for increased protection and reduced weight. Two major criteria to offer high-end performance. Of course, the RPHA 91 carbon meets the very recent ECE 2206 standard, with double P and J approval. It will therefore be possible to ride in complete safety with the chin guard closed or raised since it is equipped with a locking mechanism.

And for those who like to ride with the chin bar raised in order to enjoy their journey, HJC has completely redesigned the mechanism of its chin bar. This now benefits from a double pivot system: once in the high position, the chin guard lowers onto the top of the helmet. Result: a reduced frontal surface for low air resistance and a lowered center of gravity for less stress on the neck. Once the chin bar is raised, the lower locking system automatically hides to further reduce aerodynamic noise.

GT equipment galore.

Essential equipment for any touring helmet, the internal sunscreen has also been revised. Anti-fog treated, it can be adjusted to three positions, from 0 to 10 mm (more or less close to the face) to adapt to each person's morphology or to any prescription glasses, which will also benefit from the dedicated grooves so that the branches do not cause any pressure on the biker's temples.

The compactness of the RPHA 91 is not only evident with the raised chin guard. Shorter than before, it places the helmet wearer in a bubble of comfort and silence once it is folded down. The new 3D foams have been specially designed to filter road and wind noise, supported by the integrated neckband.

Soundproofing and ventilation.
The airflows are skilfully directed to limit disturbances, like the light spoiler integrated into the hull. Two huge vents, easily manipulated with large winter gloves, are located on the top of the helmet for air intake and extraction. The RPHA 91 introduces two additional air inlets above the screen for direct access to the front which will be appreciated in the height of summer. Finally, the ventilation on the chin guard will bring a little air to the face while the large Pinlock 120 lens will help delay the arrival of fogging on the main screen.

Prepared to communicate.
Note that the RPHA 91 is compatible with the SMART wireless communication kit HJC v2 provided by SENA and available soon. This kit is integrated inside the helmet with two control plates positioned on the sides and fits perfectly into the general line of the helmet without losing its approval.
