At the start of this year, HJC unveils a new Replica Quartararo version based on the RPHA 12, a special edition that abandons the usual bright colours in favour of a more discreet ensemble composed of white, grey and black.
Fans of the French driver fabio quartararo will find the essential graphics all around the hull. The Monster Energy logo remained in color creates a striking contrast with a glossy finish of the most beautiful effect. This special edition model will be available at HJC dealers from February 2025.
About the RPHA 12:
Die-hard fans of the RPHA helmet will find in the RPHA 12 line the features that have contributed to the brand's success since its entry into MotoGP in 2010 with the RPHA 10 worn at the time by Texan rider Ben Spies.
This version is recognizable at first glance, the model evolves somewhat and retains its design, thus marking an obvious lineage with its predecessor. This evolution also marks the model's transition to the ECE 22.06 standard with the development of a new multi-fiber shell made using the PIM EVO process developed by HJC. It gives pride of place to lightness and sportiness with, as always, strong points: aerodynamics, aeroacoustics, comfort, ventilation, finish, field of vision and safety. But by getting a little closer, the developments are revealed.
A new screen and new turntables, still removable without tools, the screen benefits from a mechanism which once closed ensures hermetic contact with the seal. A new screen locking system appears on the left side. The 2D screen receives a new Pinlock® MaxVision 120 whose upper seal is hidden just under the helmet seal, favoring the quality of vision behind the bubble when the gaze rises in order to compensate for the lying position. The HJ-42 screen is also pre-equipped to receive tear-offs.
Advanced ventilation, It also makes significant progress with a revised internal channel system coupled with new air intakes and extractors. At the front, a new chin bar ventilation and a second one at the forehead have been added to allow a greater volume of air to enter compared to the previous model.
The side air intakes characteristic of the sporty RPHA benefit on this new model from a reworked mechanism to let air enter the inside of the hull and redirect the air to the outside when the intakes are closed. They are equipped with a silicone strip to facilitate their opening and closing. The hot air, meanwhile, is evacuated by the extractors hidden under the spoiler.
Aerodynamics and aeroacoustics, the RPHA 12 progresses thanks to work in the wind tunnel which focused on better dispersion of air flows around the helmet at high speed. The external elements have been reworked to offer the best compromise between efficiency, aerodynamics and reduction of noise generated by air flows along the shell. The new screen is slightly curved at the plates to accompany the convex line of the helmet. A bypass channel has been added in the new external vents to reduce air drag and noise. The chin flap and the foam around the neck also contribute to reducing aeroacoustic noise.
Support, comfort, from 2XS to 2XL. The RPHA 12 benefits from a completely new interior, a new construction that integrates the latest advances in comfort and support at HJC. The RPHA 12 is available from 2XS to 2XL thanks to four shell sizes and five sizes of EPS foam liners. For a better fit, the RPHA 12 benefits from a standardized system for fixing the comfort foams, which allows them to be replaced by others of different thicknesses, themselves available as accessories. The cheek pads retain an emergency extraction system allowing easy and quick removal if necessary. They are covered with an antibacterial, anti-odor and antiperspirant fabric.
To conclude, the RPHA 12 fits into the range between the very radical RPHA 1 and the more versatile F71, it arrives in stores fourteen years after the first model that paved the way for a new generation of helmets at HJC. With this model, the Korean manufacturer confirms a certain leadership in the helmet market and its know-how in designing and producing high-quality, racy helmets.
