Honda has things to celebrate in 2019. We know that in Grand Prix, the 25 years of HRC were worthily celebrated with a triple crown symbolized by the drivers', manufacturers' and teams' championships. Marc Marquez was not for nothing in this consecration, but on the industrial side, the Tokyo brand has also passed a milestone which highlights an already 70-year-old epic which is still far from over...

Honda is the world's leading manufacturer, and for those who doubt it, here is the latest argument to prove it: seven decades after the departure of the first Dream D-Type model in 1949, the brand celebrated the 70th anniversary of motorcycle production , which reached 400 million units in the world.

The brand Honda was founded in 1948 and mass production of its first factory outside Japan began in Belgium in 1963. Since then, Honda has expanded its global production, in line with its core principles of motorcycle production to meet local demands, with 35 production centers in 25 countries across Europe, Asia, Africa and America.

Honda currently produces a wide range of motorcycles and scooters for the global market, from fun 50cc utes such as the Dunk, to benchmark off-road motorcycles such as the CRF450R, to icons such as the GL1800 Gold Wing, the new CRF1100L Africa Twin and the new 1000 hp Fireblade CBR217RR-R.

Since its founding, Honda has continued to develop and manufacture products that meet many and varied global needs, based on the belief that “ the purpose of technology is to help people“. This principle led Honda to reach the milestone of 100 million units in 1997, 300 million in 2014 and, today, 400 million.

« For 70 years, Honda has been providing motorcycles to customers around the world, making life easier and more fun ", said Takahiro hachigo, CEO of Honda Motor. “ As a result, we reached our goal of 400 million units. I am grateful to all of our customers and everyone involved in the development, manufacturing, sales and service of our products. We will continue to do our best to provide attractive products that meet the needs and dreams of customers all over the world »
