Honda has extensively reworked its CBR to offer this year a sharpened 1000RR-R Fireblade. The Japanese manufacturer chose Pirelli to equip it as original equipment.
It is the most efficient tire in the Diablo family which is fitted as original equipment to the CBR1000RR-R and CBR1000RR-R SP. After being chosen in 2014 for the SP models, Pirelli is now back with its Supercorsa SP. Compared to the SC version, this tire is entitled to a bigomme solution at the rear element.
EPT (Enhanced Patch Technology) also allows the use of a 23% softer rubber on the shoulders compared to its predecessor. We note a faster warm-up, compounds promising an increase in the life of the tire, increased performance in the wet, good corner precision and greater stability.
Finally, the “slick” shoulder area is therefore 24% larger compared to the previous Diablo Supercorsa. “The long longitudinal groove, which extends over the central area of the shoulders, improves the regularity of wear, particularly during intensive use, and helps to evacuate water” specifies the official word of the Italian manufacturer.
