Scheduled in Biarritz from June 30 to July 4, the Wheels & Wave Festival would have been an opportunity for Honda to exhibit ten of the best CB650R-based preparations created by official dealers in France, Spain and Portugal. Despite the cancellation of the event, Honda nevertheless decided to show, albeit virtually, these customizations via the Honda Customs website, so everyone will have the opportunity to admire the 10 preparations and vote for their favorite model.

Honda Motor Europe often gives its dealers carte blanche regarding the preparation of its flagship models, going so far as to exhibit these most beautiful machines at shows such as EICMA and INTERMOT. Unfortunately, their display at the 2021 Wheels & Waves festival in Biarritz was cut short with the cancellation of the event, but they can be viewed on the Honda Customs website. Let’s review them too!

CB650R HEDICION, prepared by Motor Sport, Madrid, Spain.

“Our CB650R Motorsport represents the transversal spirit of Honda, breaking the barrier that separates cars from motorcycles…”

As a tribute to Honda's sporting history, Motor Sport took inspiration from the 18 Brabham Honda BT1966 racing car. Their machine's unique and subtle green and yellow paintwork matches perfectly with the black of the handlebars, rests feet, fork and wheels. And, just like the BT18, its in-line four-cylinder engine is the centerpiece, with the cylinder head cover painted yellow. A full titanium Akrapovič exhaust improves performance while the carbon fiber screen and seat cowl refine the overall look.

CB650R AKIRA, prepared by Hakuba Motor, Santander, Spain.

“If we had to choose one word to define our concept, it would be kaizen”

From the Japanese Kaizen (meaning "to improve"), Hakuba Motor's stylish CB650R Akira reflects the never-ending quest for improvements, no matter how small. The single-seater saddle is a unique carbon fiber creation, covered in nubuck leather with red stitching. The handlebars are positioned under the steering column and the electronics are now located under the saddle. An Arrow titanium silencer underlines the minimalist spirit of this machine.

CB650R CAFÉ RACER, prepared by Blanmoto Honda, Girona, Spain.

“We celebrate our personalized dreams and our company, founded in 1928.”

Steam punk and café racer styles collide in the CB650R created by Blanmoto. Even though the look of their machine is completely transformed, many of the parts used come from traditional suppliers, such as Puig, PSR, GIVI and Rizoma. Of course, custom details abound: the seat and side fairings have been modified and there are new scoops handcrafted directly from 1,5mm aluminum plate. The traditional-looking Arrow exhaust adds a touch of simplicity.

CB650R FENIX, prepared by Mototrofa Honda, Trofa, Portugal.

“The choice of name was obvious to us since our workshop was completely destroyed in 2019”

An emblem of renewal, the CB650R Fenix is very special in the eyes of the Mototrofa team, whose workshop rose from the ashes following a devastating fire. From the outside, the bike appears completely modern, even if, on closer inspection, some of its parts come from Honda models of the past. The single swingarm and rear wheel come from a VFR750F, while the front wheel was taken from a CBR900RR FireBlade. Custom parts include the saddle and its cowl, as well as the “93” colors (by Nexx Helmets) which pays homage to the great Marc Marquez and recalls the year Mototrofa was founded.

CB650R FOUR, prepared by Sagaz Honda, Toulouse, France.

“The Bol d’Or legend meets Neo Sports Café style”

The 24 hours of Le Mans run by Honda have now become legendary, and this CB650R was prepared in homage to the 1976 edition and the Honda RCB1000 driven by Jean-Claude Chemarin and Roger Ruiz. The red, white and blue color scheme and Honda logos, applied by A Brax Custom painting, are immediately reminiscent of images from the 70s, as is the wind jump. A sports pack, incorporating engine protections and a seat cowl, maintains the racing feeling while a Bagster saddle enhances the whole.

CB650R WHITE EDITION, prepared by 3C Motors, Anglet, France.

“To keep the beautiful CB1000R Black Edition company, we created its little sister, the CB650R White Edition! »

650C Motos' CB3R White Edition has been to keep company with their 100-prepared CB1000R 'Black Edition' CB2019R. Its paintwork – which makes extensive use of matte white and various shades of glossy white – adds texture and depth, and blends well with the muscular character that comes from the jet black of the engine and rims. The front master cylinder is derived from the CB1000R, while Dunlop Sportsmart TT tires complete the bike's subtle – yet aggressive – look.

CB650R BMX, prepared by Werther, Nice, France.

“Fun and stylish, just like doing a wheelie on a BMX. »

There is much more than a simple reference to BMX on the machine offered by Dealership Werther. With the glossy black paint, the all-black fork, the all-gold rims with white wall tires and the engine housings with gold inserts, it definitely attracts attention. The CB650R BMX, however, has also been built to give excellent performance, matching its eccentricity: the final drive ratio (with black and gold chain, of course) has been shortened to be more aggressive, while the Akrapovič exhaust system further increases style and performance. To all this we add the NMB Design saddle, adjustable handles and levers, gold Puig bar ends and black footrests. More subtle and refined, however, is the detail given by the light smoke tint applied to the front and rear lights, as well as the turn signals.

CB650R KarbOne EDITION, prepared by AZ Moto, Rouen, France.

“A tribute to the spirit of a famous and legendary model – the Honda CB750 Four K0. »

The four-cylinder CB750 “K0” stunned the world in 1969 and ushered in the modern era of motorcycling. And the CB650R from AZ Motos, with its metallic gold paint, pays a beautiful tribute to its illustrious ancestor. SEB Auto Shop custom-made various carbon fiber components, such as the rear shell and screen. The stunning black rims (with chrome spokes) are supplied by Evo-X Racing and fitted with Dunlop Mutant tires. Topema black epoxy paint covers the engine, handlebars, rear shock and cylinder head cover, while all finishing parts are available from Puig and Chaft.

CB650R FLAT TRACKER, prepared by ADN Motos, Cognac, France.

“In the spirit of vintage flat track and supermoto, here is our little gem. »

Flat Track DNA is indeed present on the CB650R from ADN Motos. To complete the look, an offset license plate holder with integrated brake light and turn signals, black and red Kineo spoke rims and Acerbis hand guards were installed. The evocative screen and rear hull (also equipped with space for the passenger) are tailor-made while the yellow-tinted headlight glass adds a vintage flavor to the whole. A full twin-muffler Arrow titanium exhaust system emits an evocative roar, while Dunlop Mutant tires are reminiscent of track slicks.

CB650R FOUR LIMITED EDITION, prepared by Espace Motos, Angers, France.

“Neo Sports Café rolls with the legendary CB750 Four”

For Espace Motos, the legend of the CB750 Four lives on in the spirit of the Neo Sports Café family, led by the CB1000R and the very popular CB650R. And in honor of its ancestor, a raised brown leather saddle was added and a beautiful and original petrol green paint with black and gold inserts, accompanied by the Honda logo from the 1980s. The paint also extends to the contour of the headlight, shock absorber spring, as well as front and rear fairings. Vintage-style mirrors are positioned outside the handlebars, while black footpegs and Scrambler tires complete the unique look of this machine.
