Of course, and fortunately, there was no bodily damage: it was therefore “only” motorcycles which disappeared in the fire which ravaged the Ducati dealership in Bayonne on the night of Saturday July 8, but it It is also, and above all, the fruit of work over several years which went up in flames...

The fire started around 2:30 a.m., of origin still unknown but apparently in the workshop part of the dealership. Ducati Bayonne Motorcycle Spirit. Despite the rapid and massive intervention of the firefighters, most of the machines could not be saved.

Among these, some jewels, as the team told us with tears in their eyes several days after the tragedy:  » we had beautiful iconic motorcycles, like the 2016 Superleggera, s998 Matrix, 916, 1098 R Bayliss, that customers had left us for the showcase. This is a very big loss! We don't know the origin of the fire, all we know is that it started from the workshop around half past two. The biggest damage is therefore in the workshop; there, the motorbikes melted there! We also had a Superleggera V4 and a Desmosedici, an ex-David Muscat 1199 RS. The bike of our rider at the top of the French Handy championship was there, fully equipped, 15 days of work: it melted! The motorcycles, we know where they are, but there is perhaps only a little titanium to recover.
At 4 a.m., as soon as Micka called us, we were all there and, after the firefighters' agreement, we still took out around fifty rolling vehicles, which were in the hall on the customer side, but they are carbonized. They didn't burn but they heated up a lot and it melted. The bubbles, the counters… it’s impressive! And since then, everything has rusted in just two days. They're going to be a wreck. »

From the outside, the damage is not visible. But when you enter the store, it is the frightening spectacle of the desolation of the black having completely obscured the red, all in the pungent smell that the firefighters know only too well. A nightmare, yet very real!

All our support goes to the team of Mickaël Domingues who now has to rebuild everything!
