In September 2020, Indian released what might just be the cutest motorcycle in its lineup. The eFTR Mini captured the hearts of parents in the United States and served as a safe yet exciting entry point into the world of motorcycling, especially for children ages eight and up. The Indian eFTR Mini has a style similar to that of the adult-sized flat tracker, the FTR 1200. With the success that this mini motorcycle has had in the USA, it is now coming to Europe

This machine is as simple as it gets and gives kids the chance to take the controls of what is essentially a tiny version of an adult motorcycle. It sports a saddle height of 468 mm and weighs a featherweight of 63,5 kg, which makes it easy to handle the motorcycle.

The Indian eFTR Mini is powered by an electric motor which offers two power modes: “Low” mode, which can reach up to 16 km/h for children aged eight and over, and “High” mode. ”, which increases the maximum speed to 22,5 km/h from 13 years old. The eFTR Mini is powered by a 24-volt battery that promises up to 30 minutes of runtime.

On the cycle side too, the machine remains basic with a steel cradle frame, without complex and expensive suspensions. No damping in the program, unlike the eFTR Jr which was equipped with a shock absorber and an inverted fork, but also a higher seat.

Braking is also limited to a simple element at the rear and has no front caliper, in true Flat Tracker style. There is no risk for apprentice pilots of going on a hiatus.

Speaking about this little machine, Ross Clifford, Vice President of Parts, Apparel and Accessories at Indian, said: “The eFTR Mini is the perfect choice for many riders and loyal Indian Motorcycle customers who want to share their passion for riding with their children. With the eFTR Mini added to our range, we are offering an accessible youth offering to welcome future motorcyclists. »

The eFTR Mini will be available from resellers in France by December at a price of €679.
