EFTR, it's less romantic, but it allows you to come across as serious. Indian Motorcycle has therefore filed a trademark application for “EFTR” with a view to its use on a future electric motorcycle.

The application, filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the European Union Intellectual Property Office, specifies that the name EFTR is intended for "electric motorcycles and their structural parts", leaving little doubt that Indian Motorcycle is working on an electric version of the FTR-1200 according to motorcycle.com.

Now, when this spark will burst onto the market, we don't know. No more than for the rest of the technical sheet. But we will remember thatIndian is part of the group Polaris who had worked on the electrical subject with the coat of arms Victory and Empulse TT. It was 2016, which is a long time ago now since the Live Wire makes 105 hp while Zero offers a 110 hp machine.

More than double the Empulse TT which used a six-speed manual gearbox. It will be interesting to see if theEFTR Indian will also have this type of transmission….
