Kawasaki Europe has just revealed the 2022 Z900RS SE, and it ticks all the neo-retro boxes you could want in a motorcycle. While the aesthetics are undeniably appealing, Kawasaki didn't stop there. A few performance upgrades help make this model truly special.

This new version will sport a new yellow and black dress, with gold rims. Kawasaki calls this style “Yellow Ball”. The vintage spirit of the 70s is preserved and even reinforced, with the spirit of the legendary Z1 which will also hover above the SE version. The colorway is called Metallic Diablo Black, and it's a tasteful nod to the historic lineage of this thoroughly modern motorcycle.

But the Z900RS SE doesn't stop at this new color: the two 300 mm diameter Brembo front discs are gripped by radially mounted Brembo M4.32 monobloc calipers, assisted by a Nissin master cylinder with a radial pump in addition small diameter (17,5 mm diameter instead of 19,1 mm on the standard model) which activates braking through braided stainless steel hoses offering greater braking power.

The fork is inverted and the tubes have a diameter of 41 mm with preload adjustment. The rear shock absorber is an Öhlins also adjustable in preload and rebound. Kawasaki traction control, wet clutch and assist, and the introduction of a reworked-sounding exhaust are some of the other notable features of this machine.

The inline four-cylinder engine develops 109,5 hp at 8 rpm, as well as just under 500 Nm of torque at 98,5 rpm. It is equipped with a six-speed gearbox.

So far, only Kawasaki Europe has introduced this colorway, no other Kawasaki branch in the world mentions it yet. Pricing and availability information has not yet been announced.
