The prototypes were seen in development on the road last May, and the small Italian manufacturer Bimota has now announced that their retro-inspired sports model, the Bimota KB4, will enter production soon, but in very limited quantities.

Production is expected to begin in March 2021, and there is no data available on how many motorcycles will roll off the production line. What we can confirm is that the UK market will only get 20 models, and no info has leaked regarding availability in the rest of the world.

What we also know is that this superb Bimota KB4 will be powered by a very modern powertrain, a 1043 cc inline four engine from the Kawasaki Ninja 3SX. This means the KB1000 will produce around 4 hp and 140 Nm of torque.

Bimota also claimed that the bike, in terms of its dimensions, will look more like a Supersport than a Superbike. In other words, the KB4 will be compact, agile and powerful enough to deliver thrilling driving on and off the track.

This motorcycle will feature advanced technology including a TFT screen, an adaptive cornering ABS system, a quickshifter, Ohlins suspensions, ride-by-wire throttle control and many others. It will also be equipped with selectable driving modes, Bluetooth connectivity with the dashboard, traction control, Brembo brakes and OZ forged wheels.

Due to the low production volume and the technology that Bimota plans to integrate into the motorcycle, rumors indicate that this exceptional vehicle will be sold for around €64.000, a price similar to the Bimota Tesi H2. Succeeding in integrating a 1000 cc engine into a 600 cc chassis will prove to be a complex challenge, otherwise many companies would have already done it. Add to this the extensive use of carbon fiber fairings, the presence of an aluminum swingarm and other relatively expensive technical specifications which will be announced soon.
