Ducati closed the first half of 2022 with excellent results, despite the challenges imposed by the current supply and logistics crisis. During these first 6 months, from January to June 2022, the company's revenues increased by 5,4%, from 514 to 542 million euros, compared to 2021. This is the highest amount highest ever recorded by the motorcycle manufacturer during the first six months of the year.

Operating profit also improved and was +14,8%, going from 59 to 68 million euros compared to the same period in 2021.

The Italian motorcycle manufacturer delivered a total of 33 motorcycles to enthusiast customers, limiting the delivery delay to -265% compared to the same period in 3,6 (2021). This result was obtained thanks to great flexibility and constant dialogue with partners and with unions, despite the difficulties linked to the supply crisis.

Italy is obviously the leading market for Ducati with 6 motorcycles delivered, followed by North America with 028 models, Germany with 5 and France with 239. The figures in China are significant , reaching + 3% with 745 motorcycles delivered.

Since its presentation in 2020, the Multistrada V4 has enjoyed growing success with enthusiasts. Over time, it has confirmed the expectations created, establishing itself as an ideal motorcycle for any type of trip and taking its place among the most popular models in the Ducati range. Still for the first half of 2022, the Multistrada V4 is the most delivered motorcycle with 6139 units. Next comes the Monster, with 4776 motorcycles delivered, and the Scrambler 800 family with 3999 motorcycles.

 

 

Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati, looks back on these record figures: “2021 was a record year for Ducati with the best result ever recorded in terms of deliveries, revenues and operating profit. 2022 is proving to be a more difficult year: despite the strong demand from enthusiasts, as evidenced by the order portfolio which at the end of the first half is growing by +86% compared to the same period of 2021, the strong discontinuity in the world of logistics and purchasing. »

Then he adds: “However, we have managed to obtain very satisfactory results given the context in which we operate, particularly in terms of revenues which are the best ever recorded over the first six months of the year. I would like to once again thank all the enthusiasts who continue to choose us and I personally apologize to anyone who has waited or will have to wait longer than necessary to receive their motorcycle. »

Henning Jens, Ducati Financial Director, also adds that “Ducati's financial performance in the first half of 2022 once again shows a solid improvement for the company compared to the previous year. Given unpredictable supply chain challenges, including significant increases in raw material costs and material shortages, the result achieved demonstrates the high resilience of our financial assets and the flexibility of our operations. With 542 million euros in turnover we reached a new record, achieved thanks to strong demand from our passionate customers. Thanks also to the discipline of fixed costs and the improvement in margins, we were able to increase operating profit from 59 to 68 million euros, an increase of 14,8% compared to the same period of 2021.
