The current version of the KTM RC 390 was unveiled at Eicma in 2013. With the need to meet Euro5 regulations, the Austrian brand decided to completely overhaul its range. Thus, after unveiling the 390 Duke and the 390 Adventure, the RC 390 was once again seen during a testing phase.

Like the current model, the upcoming KTM RC 390 will again be developed in cooperation with Bajaj and produced in India, just like the 390 Duke and 390 Adventure.

The latest images published by the German colleagues of Motorradonline.de reveal two versions of the RC 390 captured during road tests by KTM test riders and taken at two different times.

In the photo below, the headlight optics are reminiscent of those of the RC8. This was not the case on the versions observed in the past.

Apart from this stylistic difference, the new RC 390 now appears in its almost final form, and could enter the catalog of the Mattighofen brand as early as this year.

The aesthetics are completely new and with a more profiled and protective fairing, the tank has a different shape and the handlebars change angle and height.

The 373 cc single-cylinder (named 390 among the oranges) remains similar to the one we know, but should undergo certain technical developments in order to meet Euro5 anti-pollution standards. So the muffler, including the catalytic converter, appears to become larger. The power of 44 hp and the torque of 35 Nm will probably remain unchanged.

The redesigned frame resembles that of the latest 390 Duke, but with a specific rear ball, dedicated to the sports model.

The front shows the same 320 brake disc with BYBRE radial caliper from the latest Duke and in this too the two photographed models differ from the previous prototypes seen. The fork appears to be the 43mm inverted WP.
