Borgo Panigale (Bologna, Italy), September 15, 2021 – The production of the Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary, the numbered production motorcycle that Ducati built to pay homage to the legendary career of Troy Bayliss twenty years after his conquest of the Championship of the 2001 World Superbike, started at the Borgo Panigale factory. From October, the motorcycle will be available in dealerships across the Ducati network.

This unique model immediately entered the hearts of Troy fans around the world. In fact, from the first days after its presentation at the WSBK race in Assen, the bike was ordered by many fans, already covering a large part of the production for the coming months.

Featured in an episode of the 2022 Ducati World Premiere in which Troy Bayliss was the protagonist (link to video here), the “Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary” version is made from the base of the Panigale V2 and is characterized by a celebratory livery, whose graphics are inspired by those of the 996 R which, during the 2001 season , propelled the Australian driver to the first of his three world titles, revisiting his colors and cuts. Ducati Red is the main color of the bike and joins green and white in homage to the Italian character of the Bologna-based motorcycle manufacturer, while the iconic #21, the racing number of Troy Bayliss, and the Shell logo , which visually reinforce the link with the racing motorcycle, stand out on the sides and at the front. Troy's autograph is reproduced on the fuel tank, while the machined aluminum triple clamp displays the bike's name and progressive numbering for this unique model.

To make the bike even more efficient on the track, Ducati chose to equip the Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary with Öhlins components. The NX30 fork at the front and the TTX36 shock absorber at the rear guarantee maximum fluidity and are designed to obtain the best performance on the track, with an adjustment that makes the bike more precise and offers the rider more sensations and better support in all phases of driving. The steering damper, thanks to the adjustments it is equipped with, allows you to personalize its calibration by adapting it to the driving style and the characteristics of the circuit.

Compared to the standard version, the Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary is also 3 kg lighter, thanks to the adoption of a lithium-ion battery and the choice of the single-seater configuration which explicitly recalls the look of the racing motorcycle (passenger seat and footrest are available in the supplied equipment).

The equipment is completed by the sports grips, the silencer outlet cover in carbon fiber and titanium and the rider's saddle made by combining two different technical materials with double red stitching. Troy's number 21 is embroidered on the saddle in white, and with the two vertical green and red stripes it constitutes the Italian flag.
